Investec Oaks Day

Opinion Poll landed the Betfair Henry II Stakes in impressive fashion travelling prominently throughout before bounding clear up the rail under a confident, assured Frankie Dettori

It has been a while since twitter was in universal decision regarding a horse and thats exactly how it felt yesterday five minutes before the Betfair Henry II Stakes as Frankie Dettori saddled the consistent Mahmood Al Zarooni-trained 6-yo at Sandown. OPINION POLL settled well in mid division under a relaxed Dettori about six lengths off the pace. He began to make smooth headway 3f out and started to press leaders with 2f to go. Frankie popped the question and the dour stayer effortlessly quickened clear and settled the race in a matter of strides, eased down crossing the line. It was an impressive performance from the ultra-consistent 6-yo and let off a warning to Godolphin that Frankie was not done with just yet. The betting for the Ascot Gold Cup next month remained unchanged despite his impressive victory last night, at 8/1 with Fame And Glory heading up favouritism at 15/8. Frankie Dettori was not done for the night having claimed the Betfair Henry II Stakes. The race of the night – the Betfair Herron Stakes saw Roger Charlton’s Top Offer head up the market trading as short as 15/8 on Thursday morning – a ludicrous price in our opinion having flopped so badly in the 2,000 Guineas. Since, a lot of pundits have been willing to ignore that run putting it down to the testing conditions with the abnormal amounts of rainfall we had but we felt there was more to blame than just the ground that day. Getting our fingers burnt once was enough for us and we readily opposed him opting for Godolphin’s IRISH HISTORY and the young and upcoming Michael Barzalona. She travelled well throughout the race but was positioned mid div up the rail and when push came to shove she was totally blocked for a run with the door slammed shut in her face and then hampered costing her all chance of victory. It was an inexperienced move by Barzalona and in a twist of irony Dettori rode out an 8/1 winner on Cogito for the Meehan stable. BAILEY’S JUBILEE again disappointed for Mark Johnston in listed company finishing a tired seventh with little excuses, as the impressive Sir Prancealot followed up his emphatic Bath maiden success to score under Richard Hughes overcoming problems in running. He looks to be a serious prospect for the Hannon team and will head to Ascot full of confidence. It is unsure whether Richard Hannon will stick to 5f and the Norfolk or up him in trip in the Coventry to 6f.

Good morning punters!

What a day in prospect with all attention to Epsom and the Oak Stakes the featured race of the day, a Group 1 contest for Fillies. The race goes at 4.05 over 1m4f where we fancy the William Haggas-trained VOW to confirm her promise shown at Newbury and at Lingfield in her Oaks trial. There is competitive racing all day from Epsom with the opener – the Princess Elizabeth Stakes, kicking off at 1.40. It really is one of the best days of the year, along with derby day to experience some top quality flat racing with the sun hopefully shining and we’ll be here to help you through it with one or two winners along the way.

The William Haggas stable has been flying of late with several promising 2 and 3 year olds which bodes well for VOW‘s chances. He is respected a lot more in this sphere than he was last year when landing 20-1 Dancing Rain under a front-running ride by Jonny Murtagh. (Photo –

About getyourtipsout

We were created just 5 months ago on a Wednesday afternoon on 4th May 2011 but our idea and reasoning behind GYTO goes back a lot further! We have always had a keen passion for sport, specifically football and horse racing. Originally GYTO was created to spread news of profitable bets through retweeting or mentioning individuals. Almost a funnel echoing key ongoings in the sporting, social and gambling world. However, it progressed rapidly and after developing a few significant sources in the sporting world we began to tweet their selections that they occasionally offered combined with our extensive knowledge resulted in a superb strike rate gaining us huge recognition especially across twitter. We now offer horse racing selections every day of the week that is updated daily. We are always involved in some way or another in any big sporting occasion and will always offer our views and opinions. Everything we do is FREE of charge and is to help our followers to create a profit from any stake they wish to risk on our selections. This blog is used to update our daily level stakes profit & loss so the results are clear for everyone to see.
