Monday 2nd July Selections

HARTANI THRIVED OFF TOUGH CONDITIONS TO LAND THE CURRAGH CUP

HARTANI made the step up to Group 3 company yesterday without much difficulty, powering away to a comprehensive five and a half length win under a confident Johnny Murtagh. John Oxx’s 3-yo had already proven himself winning his maiden at Tipperary on heavy, testing ground following that up with a win at the Curragh in different conditions (good ground). It was good to see him swoop to the front and pull away continuing to find under pressure. It is likely Oxx will head for the Ladbrokes St Leger where Paddy Power go 20/1 for the son of Shirocco to win. (Photo – ‘follow’ http://www.facebook.com/TheCurraghRacecourse)

Good afternoon followers!

It was a fairly difficult day yesterday across five meetings including over at Chantilly in France, where French Fifteen was extremely disappointing. But reports are that he took a bad step a furlong out that diminished any chance he did have. Ridasiyna got us out of trouble in the next winning well enough pushed out to the line under Christophe-Patrice Lemaire. Highlights of the day included IZZI TOP proving her worth in Group 1 company winning cosily in the Pretty Polly Stakes ahead of Sapphire, under the determined Buick drive. Hartani winning the Curragh cup for John Oxx was also an impressive display and another demonstration of a horse thriving in the testing conditions.

Its Monday again and we have four meetings for you to get stuck into today.
