DANEDREAM GETS HER HEAD DOWN TO DENY NATHANIEL KING GEORGE VICTORY

Last years winner and recent Coral-Eclipse victor Nathaniel was caught on the line by the German filly Danedream in a head-bobber. It continued a landmark season for German racing having tasted their first ever success with Energizer in the Tercentenary Stakes at Ascot just last month. The 4-yo filly denied odds of 9/1 to confirm her 5-length winning form in the Arc. Supporters had there reasons, with her time in the Prix de l’Arc de Trimphe the fastest to date. She was disappointing latest but its likely something went wrong that day finishing last in a small field. She thrived off conditions yesterday and came from off the pace to nail the game Nathaniel right on the line in a captivating renewal of the King George VI Stakes. Our selection St Nicholas Abbey was seemingly given far to much to do under Joseph O’Brien, making up considerable late ground on the leading pair. Even so he could only get within a length and a half and was never a threat. There was a lot of talk on twitter about Joseph leaving it all too late and it did appear so to the naked eye. St Nicholas Abbey seemed to possess the ability to win the race yesterday but was potentially outpaced at a crucial moment in the race before making eye-catching late headway. Connections will be pleased with that run and there is certainly more to come from the 5-yo yet so don’t go writing him off. The jockey on board Danedream did receive a six-day whip ban for overuse of the whip, which may well have been the difference in the photo finish. He said, “It was very tight, but I had a good feeling. This was most definitely one of the best races in the last few years, with so many class horses. It’s an unbelievable moment for Germany. I said before never to forget the best performance from a horse and she had won the Arc. We don’t really know what went wrong last time, but with animals it is going to happen. She fought hard and it’s definitely the biggest moment in my life.” Next stop for the German filly is expected to be Baden-Baden (Grosser Preis Von Baden) with the Arc after that. Schiergen admitted that she’ll probably end her career in the Japan Cup. (Photo – A fight to the death http://sportinglife.aol.co.uk/horse-racing)

Good morning punters!

Sundays are progressively becoming one of our best-punting days of the week and we are hoping to confirm this form today. There is some competitive action from around the world today including action from Germany and France. We will focus on Ascot, Newton Abbot, Tipperary and the Curragh. We will be covering the Group One action over in Hoppegarten in the ‘Grosser Preis von Berlin’ as well as the Group Two action at Maisons-laffite focusing on the ‘Prix Robert Papin’ and the ‘Prix Eugene Adam’ where some familiar names are in action.

We endured a hugely profitable day yesterday landing nineteen winners from fifty-five races across eight meetings, including 11/1 and 7/1 winners! It was really refreshing to land the daily double after a couple of weeks of near-misses. It returned at 12/1 and it was really pleasing to see so many of you on it despite its poor run of late. We really do appreciate our followers keeping the faith. The lucky 15 was again frustrating with just two winners from the four and it won’t be long before the penny drops with that. Good luck if your having a flutter today, sit back and let us do all the hard-work. Be lucky followers!
