Saturday 4th August Selections

John Gosden has strong claims in the Markel Insurance Nassau Stakes, fielding the market leaders IZZI TOP and The Fugue. It is surely somewhat significant that William Buick, the trainers number one jockey, has opted for Pretty Polly Stakes victor IZZI TOP. She is clear market favourite at 7/4, having opened as big as 2/1. John Gosden admitted that any rain would be in her favour and against The Fugue. With some rain overnight and early this morning we found it hard to oppose the market principal, although expect a creditable run from The Fugue under Richard Hughes – a course specialist. Of course, it would be naive to ignore the rest of the field with fillies such as Nahrain, of Roger Varian, lining up. She hasn’t been at her best in 2012 and will have to recapture some of her form from 2011 to stand a chance against these improvers. Sir Henry Cecil and Tom Queally have been in cracking form this week and Timepiece is also another that you’d be foolish to completely rule out. Although, has been held by IZZI TOP the last twice, and latest by sixteen-lengths. Was who won the Oaks was hampered in the Irish Oaks and may well have more to come, but with the Aidan O’Brien stable off the boil at the moment its probably best avoided. (Photo –

Good afternoon punters!

racing today

A lot to look forward to today despite our solid form from July seemingly coming to an end this week. The featured race of the day comes from Glorious Goodwood on the fifth and final day in the Group One Market Insurance Nassau Stakes. The going at Goodwood is Good despite some rain overnight and this morning. The main question on every punters lips is whether William Buick has chosen the right horse in IZZI TOP to go to post on with John Gosden holding strong claims with Richard Hughes mounting The Fugue.

Racing is LIVE from @Channel4Racing today from 2.05 at Goodwood in the Stewards’ Sprint Handicap over 6f. They are also showing the 2.40 Toyo Tires Performance Stakes Handicap, the 3.15 Market Insurance Nassau Stakes over 1m2f (feature) and the 3.55 Blue Square Stewards Cup Handicap. They will also show racing from Newmarket and Thirsk on a busy day for bookmakers and punters alike.

Non-runners today include Ancient Cross in the 3.55 at Goodwood reported to have an infected foot. Ruby Night is out of the 2.20 at Newmarket, reported off colour. Endless Applause was coughing this morning and misses the 4.50 at Thirsk. Callisto Moon hasn’t eaten up and misses the 3.45 at Newton Abbot. Big Johnny D was reported lame this morning and misses the opener at Doncaster. Less non-runners than we’r used to with the weather forcing trainers hands over the past few weeks.

Racing from Doncaster today where the going is Good to Firm, first race 1.40pm with a mixture of sunshine and showers. The Galway Festival continues today, where we haven’t had much luck this week! Soft, yielding in places first race 2.25. A family day at Newmarket, still racing on the July course where the going is Good to Firm from 1.45pm this afternoon – light showers forecasted. Racing from Thirsk as well, where the going is Good, Good to Firm in places. Racing tonight from 6pm from Lingfield. A busy, busy day!

a look back

It has been a ‘Glorious’ week from Goodwood. Noble Mission won a tight photo finish in the Gordon Stakes for Sir Henry Cecil, and Chachamaidee completed the double under Queally impressively. Bungle inthejungle fought back to deny favourite backers in the Molecomb, winning at long-odds. Frankel was as impressive as ever in the Sussex Stakes and will head to York next. Hurricane Higgins nosed through to just about win the Goodwood Stakes to continue Mark Johnstons fine form this week. Olympic Glory was possibly the most impressive winner of the week under course expert, Richard Hughes. It landed a nice touch for those enjoying the Olympics in London!

Saddlers Rock was too strong in the Goodwood Cup fending off all challengers, proving his worth as a top stayer for John Oxx. Fulbright won the Betfred Mile, another for Mark Johnston! And it was Australian magic as Ortensia won the Gordon’s King Geroge striding clear under William Buick despite having minimal cover.

We have always had a keen passion for sport, specifically football and horse racing. Originally GYTO was created to spread news of profitable bets through retweeting or mentioning individuals. We now offer horse racing selections every day of the week that is updated daily. We are always involved in some way or another in any big sporting occasion and will always offer our views and opinions. Everything we do is FREE of charge and is to help our followers to create a profit from any stake they wish to risk on our selections.
