Brighton & Hove Albion Vs. Cardiff City DRAW

Brighton didn’t get off to the best of starts away to Hull on Saturday. The two sides couldn’t score after 180-minutes last season and it looked set to end similarly all for a late goal from Hull with just five minutes remaining. Both sides had their chances with Brighton being considered unlucky not to share the points. Vicente and Will Buckley will face late fitness tests tonight. They are sure to fair better in front of their own crowd and will be tough to beat. Like Hull against Brighton, Cardiff looked fortunate to take all three points against Huddersfield at the weekend. There was some superb keeping early-on that kept Cardiff in the game. They grew into the game and looked better on the attacking foot. Huddersfield eventually paid for not taking one of several early chances conceding late on in injury time. If Brighton are clinical tonight Cardiff could be in for a tough evening. It’s the 60th competitive meeting between the two sides with each club having won 21. They drew 2-2 at Cardiff last season with Brighton winning this fixture comfortably 3-1. Brighton haven’t scored in their last two games and will no doubt seek to stop this tonight. They are, in fact without victory in nine, since defeating Derby at the Amex on 20th March. Cardiff are unbeaten in 11 league games winning five and drawing six. They are seeking a fourth consecutive win on the road.

Bristol City Vs. Crystal Palace HOME WIN

A tough start was waiting for Bristol City as they went down 1-0 to Forest who had a revived feeling of optimism with a new manager and owners! They were on the back foot from kick off and found it hard to find any rhythm. They did manage to keep Forest out for 70 minutes but the onslaught was too much in the end. Things will be a lot easier this evening against Palace, who will be demoralised having secured defeat from the jaws of victory. They were comfortable at 1-0 and 2-1 but Watford’s never say die attitude under Gian Franco Zola found it easy to turn the game on its head, finding both time and space to create an opening. Had a feeling Palace would struggle before the start of the season having lost so many talented players and we have a feeling tonight will again reiterate that initial thought.

Charlton Athletic Vs. Leicester City AWAY WIN

In our opinion, Leicester look one of the bets of the night at 6/4. They played with such confidence against Peterborough and cruised to victory stylishly winning 2-0. They look a force to be reckoned with this season and will almost definitely be in with a title shout – representing value. Charlton won’t be a pushover but there were question marks over their defending against Birmingham and got a feeling they may well be punished this evening.

Huddersfield Town Vs. Nottingham Forest HOME WIN

Despite going down to Cardiff on Friday there was a lot to take from the game. With some better finishing early on Huddersfield may well have got something from the game. As it went they were punished in added time and Cardiff snatched all three points. Forest had a pretty solid start winning 1-0 against Bristol City but too looked vulnerable on the back foot at times and took 70-minutes before breaking through the City back line. Huddersfield will be up for tonight back in front of their home fans and should push Forest all the way despite their renewed optimism with a new owner and manager!

Middlesbrough Vs. Burnley HOME WIN

Before the start of the season we fancied Boro to do well this year and with the signing of Josh McEachran it has only bolstered their claims. They were a tad disappointing against Barnsley who have been tipped up by many to go down. Barnsley in fact looked lively and ready for the challenge. This may well have caught Boro off guard. As the game progressed Boro found their feet but it was all too late. At home tonight, they should bounce back and look a fair price at doing so!

Peterborough United Vs. Millwall DRAW

Peterborough were made to look poor against a strong-starting Leicester City who may well be challenging for the title this season. 2-0 wasn’t a terrible result and Millwall is a more realistic challenge tonight. Millwall also went down 2-0 against Blackpool, but had started promisingly and did control parts of the game. We expect goals tonight and a game more exciting than first anticipated.

Sheffield Wednesday Vs. Birmingham City AWAY WIN

Birmingham faced a tough opening game against newcomers Charlton which ended in a share of the points. Charlton started brightly forcing Birmingham on the back foot but couldn’t find a breakthrough. Birmingham had lost just once in the league all of last season but it didn’t deny Charlton finding a breakthrough with just eight minutes to go. Birmingham plugged on and finally hit back in the fourth minute of stoppage time through Zigic. Ambrose was pivotal in that goal and may well have more of a role to play tonight.

Watford Vs. Ipswich Town AWAY WIN

Despite Watford completing one of the turnarounds of the weekend, scoring twice late on to take all three points at Selhurst Park, they face a tougher test tonight. They defended woefully at times and Ipswich are far more likely to punish them than Palace were. Ipswich shared the points against Blackburn but largely dominated the game and tonight looks a good opportunity for them to secure their first league win.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Vs. Barnsley HOME WIN

Barnsley did well to beat Boro on Saturday. They would have been eager to put the pundits views on them being relegated to bed and it will take an even better performance to prevent Wolves taking all three points tonight. Boro were nowhere near their best and were punished for it. Wolves tasted defeat on Saturday against Leeds despite having some of the best chances in the game. They looked really promising going forward, but need to be more clinical. Although, defensively they were woeful at times and will have to be cautious of a lively Barnsley trying to capitalise on it.

Blackpool Vs. Leeds United HOME WIN

Leeds did well to take all three points of Wolves at the weekend and surprised many with such a positive start. Blackpool eased to victory at Millwall and will be relishing the challenge ahead tonight. Despite the start Leeds have made it’s tough to see them coming away from tonights game with all three points and a home victory looks inevitable.

Bolton Wanderers Vs. Derby County HOME WIN

Bolton struggled on Saturday in the Lancashire derby against Burnley. Captain Kevin Davies started up front with team GB’s Marvin Sordell but they couldn’t find a breakthrough. Defensively they were poor and Burnley made them pay, albeit with a scrappy goal which caused immense confusion amongst the Bolton back line. Cheong Lung Lee caused a real threat to Burnley but they were pretty solid defensively. It was a bit of a smash and grab adding to the goals in the second half, you got the impression there was a lot more to come from Bolton. In front of their fans tonight in the Reebok, they should be a tough team to beat.

TONIGHTS TREBLE

Bolton to beat Derby @ 7/10

Blackpool to beat Leeds @ 6/5

Middlesbrough to beat Burnley @ 11/10

TREBLE PAYS 7/1 generally

Do not under estimate burnley at all this
Season. got them at 11/4 to win again
    Tonight!
cleaned up on Saturday with 2/1 odds on
Burnley to win and Austin to score last
At 6/1. Austin again 11/4 to score anytime
    Tonight, backed again.

    • Best of Luck Andy and enjoy the game tonight. We are keeping Middlesbrough on side this season and fancy them to bounce back tonight. Burnley did well against Bolton but the goals were scrappy and didn’t think the result reflected the 90-minutes.
